  2. jinhae cherry blossom festival – part 1

random notes on my trip to jinhae

    • the people down south are really much friendlier, warmer, and more genuine
    • on the train to jinhae on saturday, i saw a news report saying that there will be “많은 비” (a lot of rain) on sunday
    • “a lot of rain” turned out to be a slight drizzle in the morning with sunshine in the afternoon :D
    • it is almost impossible to realistically capture the beauty of the cherry blossoms in pictures. you HAVE to see it in person.
    • the trees were not in full bloom yet, but even then it was amazing.
    • i really should see more of korea, instead of confining myself to seoul
    • then again, i still haven’t seen all of seoul, even after 1 year of being here
    • we went before the festival officially started, which translates to NO CROWD!!!! (i hate crowds)
    • talk about impeccable timing. :D

alright, as i mentioned earlier, i took A LOT of pictures. so here’s the first part.

  3. a long-awaited indulgence

    March 20, 2008 by admin

the weather is finally warm enough for me to get my first ice-cream of the year! the last time i had ice-cream was (i think) at baskin robbins with equinox when he came over. then, the outside temperature was sub-zero.

and the weather now is PERFECT ice-cream weather. it’s warm enough to eat it and not freeze, yet cool enough so that you can slowly savour your ice-cream as it doesn’t disintegrate into one mushy, sticky mess in like 5 seconds.

i had a cookies-and-creme ice-cream cone, purchased from the convenience store nearby, after lunch.

now i am so craving for 팥빙수 (red bean yoghurt ice kachang)!!! i haven’t had it since like, forever!!! grrr…

any seoulites out there up for 팥빙수? ^^
